First-hand means first-hand
I say when something comes from my own experience instead of presenting it as a universal rule.
I am Rob Knott. I have experienced spontaneous out-of-body states since childhood, long before I had a belief system or language for them.
I built this site to give people practical help without the mystical theatre, while taking the experience and the unanswered questions around consciousness seriously.

For years, astral projection was simply part of my life. Later, people in online communities began asking how they could improve their own chances of having an experience. Short replies were never enough, so I created a place where I could answer those questions properly.
I write as a practitioner, not as a guru. My own experiences are useful evidence about what one person can observe, but they are not proof of a universal explanation. That distinction matters throughout this site.
To help people practise, understand what happened and ask better questions.
Most writing about astral projection either treats every experience as unquestionable spiritual fact or dismisses the subject before taking first-hand reports seriously. Neither position is especially useful.
How to Astral Project occupies the more interesting middle. The experience can be spiritually meaningful. Sleep science and neuroscience can explain important parts of it. Evidential claims still need evidence, and unknowns should remain unknown until we have better ways to test them.
Clear practical help, honest first-person observation and enough precision to distinguish an experience from an explanation of it.
I say when something comes from my own experience instead of presenting it as a universal rule.
Scientific and historical claims should lead back to papers, official documents or credible primary material.
The focus is sleep timing, attention and repeatable practice, not expensive equipment or occult performance.
Any technique that damages sleep, increases distress or makes daily life harder is not worth continuing.
I believe consciousness is more than the body and that astral projection is a genuine spiritual phenomenon. That belief motivates the investigation. It does not exempt my claims from scrutiny.
I cannot promise an experience, prove what every reported environment is or tell another person what they must believe. I can share useful methods, observed patterns and the best evidence I can find.
The practical guide gives you a method. The Blog and Field Guide help you understand the territory around it.
