A cluster of experiences reported during actual or perceived proximity to death, sometimes including an out-of-body perspective.
Also known as: NDE
What it means in practice
An NDE can include light, movement, life review, presence or profound emotion. It overlaps with OBE reports but arises in a different medical and psychological context from deliberate astral projection practice.
